Wilmington, MA (February 26, 2026) – XENON Corporation, the global leader in high-intensity Pulsed Light technology, today announced the launch of the Compact Integrated Xenon Lamp (CIXL), a high-performance, cost-effective solution designed to support contamination control strategies in pharmaceutical storage rooms.
The fully integrated, compact, plug-and-play CIXL installed system enables pharmaceutical manufacturers to incorporate XENON’s proprietary PurePulse® Technology into pharmaceutical storage rooms. Engineered to meet the demands of regulated production settings, the CIXL system provides a non-contact, non-chemical approach to reducing microbial bioburden on exposed surface, and environment.
By delivering high-intensity Pulsed Light – an FDA-cleared technology for microbial inactivation – the CIXL system supports contamination risk mitigation without introducing chemical residues or moisture. This makes it particularly suitable for applications involving primary packaging surfaces, equipment exteriors, walls, ceilings, and other hard-to-sanitize areas where microorganisms may persist despite conventional cleaning protocols.
“Microbial contamination risks increase in low-light, temperature-controlled environments common in in pharmaceutical storage rooms,” said Louis Panico, Chief Executive Officer of XENON
Corporation. “CIXL was developed to provide consistent, high-energy surface and environment decontamination that complements existing cleaning and environmental monitoring programs, helping manufacturers strengthen contamination control without impacting workflow or materials.”
At the core of the CIXL system is a unique XENON manufactured lamp integrated with related optics, onboard electronics, and active cooling. The system’s peak energy produces light intensities equivalent to as much as 100,000 times that of sunlight at the Earth’s surface in a millisecond. This enables rapid microbial inactivation across a broad spectrum of bacteria, yeasts, molds, and spores by overwhelming the DNA repair mechanism.
All components are housed in a rugged brushed stainless-steel enclosure with a quartz optical window, ensuring durability, cleanability, and reliable performance in GMP-compliant environments. The compact form factor and modular design allow for flexible installation in both new and existing facilities.
Market adoption of XENON’s PurePulsed® Technology continues to grow across regulated industries, with increasing use in pharmaceutical packaging, medical device manufacturing, and aseptic processing environments – reflecting broader industry interest in non-chemical, high-throughput decontamination technologies.
